Teotonio, I am genuinly puzzled by your query. The issue for me is a war against casteism in belief and practice among Catholic Goans from an anti-casteist perspective. I would resent, intensely, anyone trying to put me into a caste category, and clearly, I would be utterly stupid to try to put myself into one as per your suggestion! If we accepted your suggestion we would be seeking the retention of caste rather than rejecting it outright as is the anti-casteist position. Is there something we are missing Teotonio as per your post?
