The 'healthy discussion' applied only to one of your earlier posting under this heading. As for 'this posting' of yours partly quoted below, really makes me sick! I am sick already; if you were close by, I might have puked on you.
From: "Philip Thomas" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> What do you know about a healthy discussion?:) One day you are ranting and raving at the very mention of the possibility of Mopa saying that it would be a veritable curse on the people of Goa. The next day you are bowing and scraping before the holy cow of Indian Naval HQ (whose insensitive presence in Dabolim one Goanetter had the courage recently to call a "crowning disgrace" in a leading newspaper).
Nasci says: the above are not my words; i have given reasons why Mopa should not be! As for the Indian Navy's business and plans; they are subject to the Govt of the day; the defence forces are not a law or authorirty unto themselves. India is not a military dictatorship.
The President and his council of ministers and parliiament have the power to vett all these things, in the best interests of the country. Being of stategic importance to the defence of the country; the naval or any military establishment cannot be just ordered from place to place at short notice. That is what I am saying. The govt of the day has to provide the alternate place and the budgetary means and everything necessary to make the Navy's move possible. Sea bird is already here; and they could easily fit in there. Or the Navy can use Mopa. and U can go there too; as long as the Naval Air Wing only moves out of Dabolim. Now if this is not a healthy argument; then it only means that you are an unbalanced and very sick person.
Philip says;
What takes the cake is the following:
<The neighboring states of Maharasthra and Karnataca have much more of land
and locations available to the Navy as well as other military requirements.
I hope the govts can provide the means for the Naval Air Wing
to move out of Dabolim and soon. How do you expect the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka to bail out Goa? The former practically forced the Navy out of Mumbai due to harbour
congestion. So it went to Seabird/Karwar in the latter instead of into the
line of fire in, say, Kandla (Gujarat).
Nasci says: Let me tell you more; the naval HQ was shifted out of Bombay not so much because of congestion. That plan was decided because the naval base and INS Vikrant in Bombay then was within reach of Paki " F16s" to hit the Bombay base and get safely back without refueling.
Nasci:
I don't expect the states of Maharastra and Karnataca to bail out Goa; They are not the Govt. of India. It is the govt of the 'Union of India', that has to do the spade work, and allow for the civilian requirements of Goa; anyway it is not yours and mine to worry about. My intersest and yours should be, to firmly make out a sure case for the civilian requirements at Dabolim. But are you capable of taking on the responsibilities of the Govt of India? Are u an official or any authority on defence and or airports? I do not know you?
Nasci:
Whatever y are; you are certainly biased for Mopa; and Mopa is not in the interest of all Goa; therefore I would not hesitate to declare you as an enemy of civilian Goa.
Philip says:
Here it has promptly denied any ability or willingness to substitute for
Dabolim facilities for its pilot training. What were Alemao & Co doing when
the inadequate plans for Seabird/Yenkebe were being drawn up? What were they
doing the past 13 months when nefarious plans were afoot (reportedly since
Jan 2004) to use Dabolim for training pilots on Mig 29s?
Nasci says:
The above question should be directed to those persons and others, not me. I am not their keeper.
Philip says:
So you should be prepared to wait for a long long time before the seriousNasci says:
operational constraints on Dabolim are relieved. Dont you see that the
airport is practically being used as a glorified flying club? In the
intervening period what do you expect a tourist centred state to do? Twiddle
its collective thumb? Mopa is a foregone conclusion especially with gents
like you, (who should know better, sitting supposedly in developed lands)
calling the shots and landing this lovely place in the soup. Cheers.
If the Panjim four lane HWY and the new Patto bridge on riverside land can be built in record time; then so can the Dabolim airport be developed to Goa's requirements, within record time. What is required is the 'will' and the money duly budgeted for and less interference from doubters like you!! There will be no constraints; if all is properly planned and executed in time.
Ok? Philip, we are now in the 21st century; everything is possible with new machines, technology and know how! And India does not have to re-invent the wheel either; the technology and the machines can be imported ; India already has enough surplus, to afford this.
I hope this little lesson from me is an anti dote for your sickness! you should be doing more home work and touring the advanced countries in this field. Good luck to you.
