Hi Philip (Thomas):

Since you've been following this issue so closely, just thought of asking your comment. In the NT of May 16, 2005 the North Goa MP Churchill Alemao makes these claims about the Dabolim airport in a full-page ad full of self-praise:

As a candidate for the South Goa Parliamentary Constituency,
Churchill had promised to ensure that the present domestic
airport at Dabolim continues to function and thus ensure
that the lifeline of the people of the coastal belt, who
thrive on the tourism trade is not affected. By putting up
a spirited defence in Parliament, Churchill has managed to
achieve this and ensure that Charters are allowed to land
on Fridays, which was never allowed in the past. The resultant
unprecedented increase in charter tourism is a proof of
        this move.

What's the position, in you view, of the achievements -- or lack of them -- by politicians over Dabolim?

On a wider plane (no pun intended), is there some way concerned citizens can monitor what politicians are promising, and what's accomplished or forgotten? Is there some way the issues that matter could also be put on the agenda for the political class, which otherwise seems least bothered?
