I am happy to provide clarifications.

1. First, the Joseph Naik Vaz Institute is a separate organization from Goa
Sudharop. They have
separate boards, volunteers, supporters, etc. Occasionally, very few
supporters overlap like me.
Since I seem to be the the public cyberface for these two organizations, I know
that causes some
confusion. However, the two organizations are separate and run separately.

2. Goa Sudharop donates all monies to Goan projects and recipients. If a
donation is made by a
person directing it to A SPECIFIC CAUSE of their choosing (and not Goa
Sudharop), Goa Sudharop may
(not always) request upto 10% of that money withheld by Goa Sudharop for its
own Goan projects or
recipients since the donor receives a tax-deduction and Goa Sudharop has to
take time to
facilitate the donation (there is additional time and effort involved). Please
note, these
donations are done as a favor to the donor as it takes time away from Goa
Sudharop's own Goan
projects and recipients and we have recently tried to discourage people from
using Goa Sudharop
for their own projects and recipients. This 10% (in many cases it is less and
often zero) goes
directly to Goa Sudharop's own Goan projects or recipients. Hence, except for
minor postage costs,
ALL monies donated to Goa Sudharop go to Goan projects or recipients regardless
of who donated the
money and whether it is the original donation or the 10% withheld. No USA
volunteers get paid and
we do not pay rent. Hence, unlike most non-profits & NGO's who have high
administrative costs,
Goa Sudharop has virtually none ensuring the money gets to Goan projects and
recipients.

3. I would like to add that sometimes when a donor approaches us with their own
project and
recipient, we may be touched and add (not withold) to the donation. Recently,
we were approached
by donors for a 3 year-old Goan boy with cancer. Not only did Goa Sudharop add
to the amount
collected, we waived any witholding due to the sad nature of the case.

Regards,
George
