The Virus e-mails and other 'junk' e-mail are a world wide phenmenon! They
are auto machine generated by hackers and the like. These type of
proliferating and self expanding e-mails have nothing to do with any other
woes in relation with 'sancharnet'. A good up to date 'Anti-Virus' with auto
matic updates is the need of the day; if one wants to protect one's PC from
the devastating effects of viruses. There is no easy warding off other junk
e-mails, though the same can be classified and then deleted.
Like Gabe Menezes says: the AVG anti virus software is free, so far; but
only free for 'home PC' users.

RESPONSE: There are many programmes which are initiated by hackers and
people who have nothing better to do. These programmes self propogate
and many times will continue to send out emails with a virus
purporting to have been sent by you!
For those that want a free virus P.C. but do not want to pay for the
likes of Norton, try AVG antivirus which can be downloaded free with
updates to boot. Use a search engine to locate them. Also recently, I
received from Microsoft, a free anti spyware programme - seems pretty
good too.
