Well, its going cheaper and cheaper day by day. Lets see how cheap it was about 12 years ago..
>From GOA/India to UK the charges were Rs.60 per minute i.e. Re.1 per second. We used to go to Post and Telegraph office and often waited there in Q for hours. There were no payphones those days. The same from UK to GOA/India, it was £1.80 from BT (i.e. about Rs.145 per minute) I remember going to Southal just to phone GOA as there were some pvt. payphones who were charging just £1 (Rs.80) per minutes. What about now ?? Well, from GOA/India one can phone to UK for as little as Rs.4 per minute (check my prev. posting). It varies say Rs.4 - Rs.7 -Rs.14/16. BSNL/TataIndicom landline charges Rs.7 per minute where as from most mobile charges Rs.14 per minute. And from UK to GOA/India ?? Now, it just 3p a minute (about Rs.2.50p), cheaper than Goa/India. Check your self.. http://www.dialwise.co.uk/index2.php or just dial from UK 08444394646 then at a prompt, dial the full Goa/Indian No. It will cost you just 3p a minute. No a/c needed. Pl Note: I have not tested this service, however, a call was made to GOA on 2nd july for 8.37minutes and BT call advise service tells/says it cost total 38p (this will only be confirmed once the bill updated online). Now, kuwaitkars, Dubaikars etc, pl dont ask me why Londonkars geting cheap calls and you are not/? May be Londonkars or Englandkars are 'chodd axeche bhanddari' [EMAIL PROTECTED] for Goa & NRI related info... http://in.groups.yahoo.com/group/GOAN-NRI/ For info on Konkani VCDs (Films, Tiatr, Comedies and films on GOA...) http://konkani-vcd.swiki.net/1 ___________________________________________________________ How much free photo storage do you get?
