Dear Tom and Carolina,
I most wholeheartedly welcome your post suggesting that the caste issue be
"put to sleep once and for all." This would be truly wonderful. However,
such a wish is not that
easy to achieve by merely switching off it. After all, this evil practice
has survived for centuries. Nevertheless, what I want to suggest is that,
there could be a massive leap forward towards your enlightened vision if
individuals across the Goan spectrum were able to say on Goanet, with
sincerity, that they have personally rejected caste in its entirety. We
could be on the cusp of such a reality and I therefore appeal to you to give
such a lead so that others could follow likewise.

In this 21st. Century and with the present levels of education I feel the
