It is pretty obvious that many of you are unaware of the eminence of the numerous institutions that have honored him, acknowledged his work and where he has been in great demand for the quality and force of his ideas and his research. The reputations of these institutions around the world belie the non-specific personal criticisms by his highly biased critics. On the other hand, I have no problems with those who take issue with his ideas, and his email address is public knowledge for those who want to honestly challenge him or seek clarification, as I have done on occasion. Regardless of these scurrilous personal attacks Dinesh remains one of the highest achieving Goans in the US and a prominent public personality whose achievements have been highly acclaimed by everyone other than the most rabid of his political opponents, who don't like the fact that a person of color is of the opinion that affirmative action programs based simply on race and not on qualifications harms minorities instead of helping them.
