My good friends!

Let us vote Venantius to design, and develop in the technique he proposes,
the forthcoming postal stamp of Abbé Faria.

It will be honouring two worthwhile Goans at a throw, while, at the same time,
comemorating/celebrating Goa's bygone and contemporary greatness!

The line portrait on the site - www.abbefaria.com would make an
intriguing image on a stamp- perhaps, a narrow vertical. It would work

well either in gravure or in mixed technique printing (the IP&T avoids

this) - engraving with gravure. I have a feeling the drawing is by Dom

Martin. Is t his correct? It has a far off feeling yet is very pentrative
in its
focus; and as such portrays an idea of the hypnotist spendidly.

>We all know that Abbe Faria was a Goan. We also all know the
majestic splendor and significance of the Sistine Chapel. What we
may not all know is that Abbe Faria was invited by Pope Pius VI to
preach in the Sistine Chapel. The sermon on the “Advent of the Holy
Spirit” was delivered in Latin, in the presence of His Holiness, Pius VI.
