Currently, the Bangalore R&D centre has 1,100 scientists. Siemens Medical is also planning capacity expansion at its manufacturing plant located at Goa. The company posted 82.50 per cent increase in net profit after tax to Rs 104.45 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005 where as the same was at Rs 57.23 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2004. Total Income has increased by 68.28 per cent to Rs 1000.76 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005 whereas the same was at Rs 594.68 crore in Q4-04. The company also plans to invest in new areas of technology such as water purification, traffic management, and automation solution to hospitals, hotels and commercial establishments.
