Our tiatrists have rendered and are still rendering great service to the
public through their tiatros and kantaram. Sometimes, they even go to the
extent to take upon themselves the civic duties and help run the government.
Around two decades ago, when there were no toilets along the banks of the
Mandovi river, the Goa government came out with an order threatening anyone
who urinated by the river side to be punished with harsh punishment,
including imprisonment. M. Boyer, one of the best humorists of the Konkani
stage, and quick as he was in picking up any subject, composed the following
song which was a stinker to the government for its failure to provide
toilets to the public before implementation of the order. The message was
communicated to the public very effectively through the following comedy
song. Here are the lyrics of the song, which are quite funny:
