Mopa airport: Parsekar reinforces support BY HERALD REPORTER PANJIM, JAN 24 – Reinforcing support for Mopa International Airport (MIA), BJP Spokesperson and Mandrem MLA Laxmikant Parsekar has said for the first time political parties and people, irrespective of their party ideologies have come together in support of MIA. Addressing a press conference at party office on Tuesday morning, Parsekar said, panchayat and zilla panchayat members, traders union, social workers from Pernem, two BJP MLA – have come to together to MIA. A public meeting has been organized on January 29 in Pernem, in support of the MIA. He said, it was only after the approval of Central Government, work on MIA was started. The land acquisition was started (but currently on hold), and so far, in the first phase Government has acquired 540 hectares of land, while acquisition of land in second phase and in third phase is yet to be completed. -- May your God be with you.
