State tennis ball cricket from today HERALD CORRESPONDENT TALEIGAO, JAN 30 - Kunkolem Sports Club, under the aegis of Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association, will host their fifth all-Goa tennis ball cricket tournament, from January 31 to February 2, at Kunkolem, Mardol. Speaking to sports journalist at Panjim, president of the club Dr Madhu Godkirkar informed the first three winners will take cash prizes of Rs 10,001, 5001 and 2501 respectively alongwith trophies. Further, he said, the tournament will be played on knock-out cum league basis and only 32 teams entries will be accepted on first come first serve basis.
Jt secretary of the Goa Tennis Ball cricket Association, Nilesh Naik, disclosed, the state girls, which recently won the Federation Cup, at the national level will also be felicitated during the concluding function of the tournament besides the best players for the year 2005-06 will also be named on the same day. Dr Dipak Dhavalikar, chairman of the organizing committee, Ms Gamini Kunkalykar, Sanjay Naik, Rupesh Naik were the others present for the briefings.
