Rane, Mickky bury the hatchet BY HERALD REPORTER MARGAO, FEB 9 — In a sudden development, Agriculture Minister, Mickky Pacheco had a meeting with Chief Minister, Pratapsing Rane on Thursday evening in Margao and are learnt to have sorted out their political differences. The meeting came late this evening at a city hotel during Rane's visit to the city in connection with the Kala Rang festival. Power Minister, Digambar Kamat was also present at the meeting between Rane and Pacheco. When contacted, Pacheco confirmed having met the Chief Minister and said that the meeting has helped to sort out all differences with Rane. Asked whether he has no differences now with the Chief Minister, Pacheco said "I am happy with the outcome of the meeting. All differences have been sorted out". He said he told the Chief Minister that certain vested interests were involved in instigating discord between the two. "I informed Rane that vested interests in the Congress party were working to bring discord between us", he said. According to him, the Power Minister helped to bring about the meeting, saying that Digambar Kamat had always stood behind him. The sudden meeting comes in the wake of public utterances by Pacheco against Rane wherein he criticised Rane for his style of functioning.
