Babush finalises candidates for CCP polls BY HERALD REPORTER PANJIM, FEB 11 - Town and Country Planning Minister and Taleigao MLA Babush Monserrate Saturday night finalized the list of his 'City Corporation Development Front' for the March 12 election of Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP).
As announced by him earlier, his "Like minded people's panel' consists of more than half dozen former councilors. He is fielding candidates for all the 30 seats though only 12 wards are in Taleigao constituency. Prominent among his nominees are Avinash Bhonsle, Yatin Parekh, Aldrin Soares, Caroline Po, Nelson Cabral, Sadanand Thakur, Tony Rodrigues and his former PA John Rodrigues. Ward-wise the 30 candidates of Babush's panel are: Melita Afonso (1), Nelson Cabral (2), Caroline Po (3), Levino Pereira (4), Lorena Bento (5), Regina Almedia (6), Aldrin Soares (7), Nagesh Karshetye (8), Sunita Shetty (9), Domnic Rodrigues (10), Sadanand Thakur (11), Vibha Vibesh Naik (12), Prasad Amonkar (13), Yatin Parekh (14), Vishaka Naik Tuenkar (15), Tony Rodrigues (16), Uday Madkaikar (17), Uma Sitaram Naik (18), Narsinvha Morajkar (19), Milind Shirodkar (20), Sushila Gawas (21), Mangaldas Naik (22), John Rodrigues (23), Lalan Vijay Surlakar (24), Ajay Silimkhan (25), Avinash Bhonsle (26), Ruby Sequeira (27), Vital Chopdekar (28), Nolasco Pereira (29) and Vivina Gokuldas Nasnodkar (30).
