However, this may help... As on June 2003... There were already about 700 Goan freedom fighters receiving pension from the central government for their part in forcing out the Portuguese in 1961. Another 1,100 freedom fighters receive pension from the state government. According to the central government, freedom fighters are those who have undergone imprisonment for three to six months, suffered physically, lost property or faced financial loss. Those who went underground for three years continuously are also recognised as freedom fighters. Central Govt. Rate: Rs.4000+ per month Sate Govt. Rate : Rs:2000+ per month Plus other perks like free Rail/bus Travel, Job reservations for their dependants, other reservation quota etc etc. Are you eligible???
