Maharashtra, Goa master franchisee targets 23 Dixy Chicken outlets in first year

Maharashtra and Goa are likely to receive 23 Dixy Chicken outlets
within the first year, according to Master Franchisee, Five Star
Hospitality Development. Dixy Chicken, a UK-based fast food chain, has
set itself to open at least 100 outlets pan India within its first
five years in the country. Mohammed Iqbal Chunawala, Master
Franchisee, Maharashtra and Goa, Five Star Hospitality Development,
says he is confident of opening 15 outlets in Mumbai and eight in Goa
within the first year and targets over 40 in Maharashtra alone within
the next three years.

"We have received several enquiries over the past few months and are
close to opening our first outlet in Bandra in April. We are targeting
15 outlets in Mumbai alone and are looking at three models basically -
within malls, a full fledged 125-seater Dixy Chicken Diner and a
50-seater. Other Mumbai locations include Crawford Market and
Kandivili. In Pune, one high-street location is almost ready for
operation and another potential mall location will soon be confirmed.
Aurangabad, Kolhapur and Nashik are all on the radar," Chunawala said.
The chain's 6000 square feet flagship restaurant, opened in Noida in
October 2005. Dixy Chicken has over 110 outlets worldwide currently in
countries including UK, USA, France, Pakistan and Brunei.
