Bus operators threaten to go on strike if demands not met NT Staff Reporter Panaji March 9: The president of the All Goa Private Bus Owners Association, Mr Rajanikant Naik today said that the association would have no option but to go one a statewide strike, if the government fails to agree to its demand of increasing the bus fares before the end of the March 15 deadline. The association members during the day met the Chief Minister, Mr Pratapsingh Rane with their demands but were asked to take the matter to the Transport Minister, Mr Pandurang Madkaikar. The delegation of the association had already met the Transport Minister two days ago and he had directed them to approach the Chief Minister. Mr Madkaikar had also expressed his inability to increase the ticket rates. The association had submitted a proposal to the government suggesting the ticket rate of Rs 5 for first kilometer travelled and 40 paise for every subsequent kilometer.
