Actually, the "Where is the beef" question is more relevant with respect to the above post. Elisabeth's post was extremely well written and much more comprehensible. I understood exactly what she meant. In particular, in the above-quoted excerpt I fail to understand why anyone would want to compare the church with all these unrelated disciplines. In what way is a hierarchical religious institution analogous to an expanding body of knowledge such as science? Moreover, how is this inappropriate comparison pertinent to the heresy trial of Galileo and the current efforts against a work of fiction by Dan Brown?
