Dear Tony,
I live deep in the heartland of N. America,
thousands of km. away from my beloved
Goa. I'm that strange bird of passage that
finds refuge in different climes every couple
of months - not a typical goan ! I've been
traveling incessantly for 3 decades, but still
try to get into my goem every 2-3 months.
If I have offended your feelings I do apologize.
I've been online over 15 years and the net can
be a very harsh place for the literally inclined -
any sign of pretentiousness is simply shot down!
I do not see eye to eye with Cecil on many issues,
but I recognize his unique contributions to goanet,
ever since he joined up, despite his many tribulations.
Goans do tend to lag way behind when it comes to
nettiquette - as in 'felicitating' others publicly, or even,
appending personal 'info'. Its just not 'done' anymore,
but that is not to say one is more wrong than the other.
'Flaming' a correspondent privately is not the answer, as
Mario Goveia has discovered to his detriment. Though
I do understand your ire - why don't you use humor,
an annhilatingly powerful weapon ? I have to rush off,
(I'm doodling this on my bberry in a salad bar on a stifling
Toronto afternoon) but listen, I shall be in Rochester, NJ
soon & then onto Goa - why don't we do lunch then ?
Contrary to what most netters surmise, 'dear aunty' does
not reside in Goa ! But does try to do 'her' bit. Wherever
I am, my heart is ever in Goa. And will always touch base.
