Dear FIFA I must protest your sudden change of theme at this year's World Cup. From a colonial theme (Portugal-Angola) with Goan support, you have changed to a World War II theme (France-Italy). Now only a few people in Pondicherry will support France and the rest of India regrets they were not colonized by Italy.
The German-born Pope had a difficult time in the Germany-Italy semi-final. Who to support? The same problem Bengalis in Goa have when Mohan Began plays Dempo at Fatorda stadium. The biggest confusion lies with Goan women of Bengali origin deciding what to wear to the game: salwar khamez or not? No one except Fred protests equality in the FIFA World Cup tournaments for men and women but people are up in arms over dress codes. All of this is very confusing. You could have arranged an India-England game, this way Anglo-Indians and Goans who consider themselves European would be the only ones torn between whom to support. Next time, please organize a football tournament only. Till then, no VIVA FIFA. So now you know the truth.
