  Hi all,
I have a personal incident to relate.
During my assignment in Saudi, one day I had to rush to a copier consumables
supplier for toner. They were about to close down and I phoned the Egyptian
manager to kindly wait for me. I drove there, found them just about locking the
shutter. They agreed to give me the goods. The Malayalee driver opened the shop
again, and during the time the invoice was prepared by the Egyptian, he started
the following conversation with me:

  He: Malayalee Anno?
Me: Nam re saiba, anv Goencho Rupia. (thinking *anno* is one anna or 6 paise)
He: Endu? (I understood this was *what*?)
Me: Endo tujo Pai, hanv boro xanno.
  He: What?
Me: Oh! What did you ask?
  He: Sorry, from where you?
Me: Me Goan.....and there ended the conversation............

And, believe me - this is not a joke but actual conversation between me and
he.

  Cheers
  Agnelo Fernandes
