Let me guess: these East African Goan Catholics were not really Goans, they were Jewish Chinese without a rock solid moral code. They, not Europeans, were responsible for the Inquisition in Goa, and their atheistic Peruvian cousins from agnostic Kenya were responsible for building churches in plots adjacent to, but not on top of, Hindu temples in Assam.
