Hamara Project is organising a Harmony Concert at Kala Academy on August 7 at
7 pm. It will feature both Indian and Western music.
Hamara Project is a venture undertaken by the Goa Branch of Kasturba Gandhi
National Memorial Trust.
In addition to Hamara School, a centre for underprivileged children in St.
Inez, which has been functioning successfully for a number of years, the
NGO is now getting ready to start a hostel for underprivileged/homeless
children in Taleigao.
They have been allotted an abandoned school by the Education Department which
needs a complete renovation, adding of bathrooms, kitchen etc.
A grant from the German Government has been received for the entire equipment,
furniture etc., however, the total cost of renovating the school building has
to be raised by Hamara Project.
Many excellent musicians have spontaneously agreed to support the cause, and
the entire proceeds of this very special concert will go to the existing
school as well as the upcoming hostel.
