Gilbert, Do you think that your above statement makes any sense at all? Are you now trying to equate science with atheism? If you consult a standard English dictionary, you will realize that atheism simply refers to a lack of belief in a god or gods, or a belief that god does not exist - nothing more. Buddhists and Jains are atheistic because they do not believe in a god. But Buddhism and Jainism are recognized as religions. Indeed, many people recognize active atheism itself as a religion. I have already provided articles from reputable sources to back these assertions. What kind of independent documentation of facts supports your confusion? Belief in a soul and afterlife is a separate matter. I have already given you examples of atheists who believe in a soul and afterlife. Even the earliest Greek atheists, namely Anaxagoras, Democritus and Diagoras believed in a soul. Therefore, atheism per se has nothing to do with a lack of belief in a soul. Regarding your confusion between science and atheism, science has nothing to say about existence or non-existence of god. But as I have stated in my last post, it clearly has a lot to say about the non-existence of a soul. This is another strong reason for a clear dissociation between a belief in god and a belief in a soul. If you have any facts that contradict my facts in this regard please feel free to present them here. Of course, as always, you are also free to present pure nonsense.
