Congratulations to the Goa Police on finding newer and more innovative and
efficient ways to combat crime in the port city of Vasco.
Reading the article that appears on the Goa Net news letter the reporter
mentions that "The moves seems surprising,especially when the police force
across the country is going high-tech to cope with rising crime".
While technology is undoubtedly proved to be helpful in many areas of policing
I am sure the cops in charge of the Vasco police have made a collective
decision in going in for the purchase of the cycles. If one has actually
visited some of the interiors parts of the Vasco city that come under the
jurisdiction of the Vasco Police station the will understand and appreciate
the reason for the purchase of the cycles.
Please let us encourage the efforts of the police and appreciate their
initiative especially in this case when they seem to be genuinely trying to be
doing something good. A proper police patrol whether on foot or on a cycle is
a secret of many police forces around the world and after all there are still
a few jobs that technology cannot yet do with the same efficiency.
