Hi Peter, The dangers of INDISCRIMINATE use of DDT have have been well documented. Because of the widespread ban on the INDISCRIMINATE use of the product, we still see it's efficacy in JUDICIOUS use of this very potent insecticide for mosquito control. Had it not been for the ban, mosquitoes would probably have evolved resistance to DDT by now.
The article recommends it only for INDOOR use to combat the threat of malaria carrying mosquitos, not the outdoor fogging that was killing all beneficial insect life and creating an imbalance or the natural ecosystem.
