Re-sent Puppy love, Mummy love & Daddy love
The only daughter 40, settled in Europe had this beautiful puppy. They loved the puppy so much that when the puppy is sick or stops eating etc it will upset the whole family. One day, while the family car was taken to the garage for servicing, the dog suddenly fell ill, so they called a minicab to take the dog to the local vet(erinary). The aged parents had two other sons, both married and well settled in Europe too. Whereabouts of one of them was not known to the parents as he failed to keep in touch with them for over 15 years (but it was understood from a reliable source the son is in France with his family of 5). Back home (Goa), the father is dying and the mother send messages to every one (wherever possible) but no one got back to her and the father eventually died. The funeral took place with no children. The mother is all alone now with no support at all from her 3 children. One day I met this Konkani speaking daughter.. I told her the sorry state of her mother. She replied HANV KITEM KORUM ? MAKA KAZAR KELEM ANI HANV BHAIR PODDLEM. PUTANI APLEA MAIM-PAIK POLLOUNK ZAI (What should I do ? Once I am married, I am out of it. The sons should look after them now). Again, while the daughter was in Goa staying in her bungalow, I requested her to keep her mother with them for some days, for this she replied MHOJEA GHOVAKODDE VINCHARCHEM POTOLEM .. (I will have to consult my husband on this..) Few years later, the mother also dies. Again, no children at the funeral. To understand this fully, here, I give you three tests: (Pl read the above 2-3 times (if necessary) before taking these tests). Test 1: Have you any pets like dogs etc ? If so, try to weigh by putting you dog/puppy on one side and your parents on the other side. Check which one is heavier i.e. puppy love or parents love ? Test 2: No pets ? No problem. Put your right hand right into your conscious and ask your self this What about me or my parents? Test 3. Just stand right in front of a mirror and check if you can see your own CLEAN reflection Finally, we must not forget our own children are watching our every steps and that they will treat their parents the same way we treated ours.
