The Save Goa Front has demanded that Goa Government in public interest to the States Exchequer direct the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA) to re- tender the work of the Sonsodo garbage plant project in view of the findings of the vigilance department in the Sonsodo tender multi-crore scam.
Demanding that the government make public the findings of the preliminary inquiry conducted by the Vigilance Secretary, Save Goa Front has demanded that the most stringent action be taken against the erring officials of GSUDA, which is headed by Urban Development Minister Mr. Joaquim Alemao. The Sonsodo project has to be re-tendered as the Vigilance Secretary after scrutiny of the Sonsodo tender file, has in his notes pointed out the very serious illegalities and irregularities including major financial abnormalities while processing the tender, awarding the work and giving the mobilization advance. Urban Development Minister Mr. Joaquim Alemao must resign and face a fair and impartial inquiry into this mind boggling Sonsodo tender multi-crore scam instead of trying to exert pressure on the bureaucracy to hush up such a serious issue. The Save Goa Front has also demanded that the Vigilance department in public interest scan and scrutinize all the other recent tenders floated by GSUDA.
