Yes, St Pauli Girl was the ubiquitous brand but Heineken & Becks
held their own.
The Portuguese Sagres was limited for army barracks; in the
officers´ messes the German ones prevailed.
The real St Pauli "girl", however, does´nt taste all that bad!

The only people to be able to answer this would be the
importers themselves, probably in the eighties, if
still living today. But I do recollect having seen
Becks among the beers available then.
