Talking about the Gulf Maids (being an average earner) I too would have offered Rs.5000pm with free accomoation and meals for a two bed flat. Plus, we would help with new or near new children/adults clothing/toys etc. Free return ticket every two year. wedding/Birthday/Xmas gifts etc. Plus gold chain say every two years. Salary increament 10% every year. Remember, these all things add up.
Foll info might also interest you.. House/Flats Cleaning jobs: (Sweeping, moping, dusting, diswashing etc) Just One hour a day work, they demand Rs.700/pm (this was about 2 years ago at Miramar). Immagine, by doing just 10 hours a days in the same block of flats etc one can earn Rs.7000 per month (There are many people (mostly non-Goans) who would do more than 10 hours aday). Most of the time, the work being their routine, they do their 1 hour job in just 30-40 minutes thus giving them more free time to take up addtional jobs. In Goa, workers are paid up to Rs.400 or more per day depending upon the nature of work etc e.g. To paint this building workers paid up to Rs.400 per (8hrs) day per skilled labour again, non-Goans (Minimum being Rs.200/day) that's roughly Rs.12,000pm (or Rs.6000 for helpers). There were over 70 workers working per day.
