OK Bosco now that we are homing in on the right name, it is actually INSTITUTO LUSO-INDIANO. Holds memories for me too as after celebrating the Assagao St Cajetan's feast in the Curch of St Francis Xavier at Dabul, the Assagonenses used to retire for festivities at the ILI hall.
I remember well the rickety wooden stairs that lead to the hall and within the hall the narrow winding stairs that led to the circular gallery that had cupboards full of books that were treasures, but meant nothing to a 12 year old boy. My classmate Marek Chaves a Goencar in spite of his odd name, used to live in that building which was residential too, I believe in the stories above the ILI hall. Roland.
