RESPONSE: I empathize with you, although I do not have a problem receiving the host from a lay person: I do have a problem if I happen to know that the lay person is not an upright person. I believe it is sacrilegious for unworthy persons to perform this task. For instance if the person is living in Sin, as you have shown in the instance above. We have quite a few of these characters here in London amongst our Goan community. We head for the priest and if push comes to shove, we do not receive the host. Then there those who condone or overlook, thieves and crooks - these people are also guilty through their neglect and omissions.
