With Govt. Subsidy, pilgrimage tours to Bethlehem/Israel could be lot cheaper
from next year
You may be aware that Govt provides subsidy to indian Muslims for their annual
Haj/Mecca
pilgrimage every year.
A delegation of Christians MPs (both Lok Saba & Raya Sabha) met Prime Minister
, Dr, Manmohan
Singh and handed over to him a memorandum to extend yearly pilgrim subsidy to
Christians to go
to their pilgrimage centre, Bethlehem in Israel form year 2007 onwards on the
same pattern as
Muslims and Hindus for pilgrimage.
Rajya Sabha MP, Shantaram Naik from Goa, the only non-Christian MP, who was a
part of the
delegation, told PM that he had joined the delegation to support the cause as
his state, Goa
has a population of 30% percent Christians, whose feelings too, he proposes to
represent.

The PM assured the delegation to look into the matter. (GT)

I always admire this man Shri Shantaram Naik MP. He is many times in the news
as he is one of
the active section of the MPs.
I guess, our Churchill (South Goa MP) belongs to dormant MPs section ?
Parliament in session now (Delhi), I wonder if Churchill is in Delhi or in Goa.
Just two days
ago he was in the Goan news.
