Hi Manohar,

Here is proof (see note below) that there is considerable support for you among Goans and you have to get your electoral support machine humming in each and every corner of Goa. Listen to the people, solve their most pressing problems, sympathize with them and get their support - we engineers are trained to solve problems in the most efficient way with the least number of inputs - You know that approach does not work in politics !

All the Best in Your re-election bid. The whole of Goa appears to be behind you, You need to harness this ovewhelming support for a resounding victory! We all want you to be the Best and Longest serving CM of Goa before the country demands that you be the Prime Minister of India !

Here are a few Goan IITians whose villages I may remember and who you may want to tap for support: Mark Fernandes (KGP - Oxel. now US), Luis Mesquitta (KGP-Benauliim -he's now a Professor at PCCE, Verna), Tony Coutinho (BOM -Cuncolim; now Pune), Angelo (US) and Ronald Mascarenhas-Bombay (KGP, both Bardez), Prashant Sanzgiri (KGP, now US), S. Phadte(KGP), Desmond D'Souza (BOM, Bardez; now US), Victor Menezes(BOM - Bardez; now US), Ashank Desai(BOM - Bardez; India), Thomas Lobo (KGP-Aldona; now Australia), Derek and Kevin Nazareth (both BOM, ex Aldona, both US), Manuel Pontes (BOM-Bardez; now US), Victor Nazareth (KGP -Bardez; now India), Mario Moniz (KGP-Bardez, now US), Christopher Fernandes (BOM, now US) and there are many more !

You may note that the head of the Jesuit Catholic Fathers of the Bombay Province is also a Goan IITian - Fr. Francis D'Mello (from around Margao, he was B.Tech EE in IIT-BOM, in your time around 1976,77) - so you can tap into our Catholic Church too for overwhelming support and clarify your secular stand and concrete ideas for a Goa Dourada !

I think we should create IIT awareness in Goa in a big way and you should you should revive your detailed plans to get an IIT branch established in Goa - then most Goan engineers will be IITians and Goa will become the Silicon Valley of India !

     Best Regards,

>Judging from the no-show of any 'ruling' MGP-turned-Congress ministers and others from the administrative >and legislative wings, and the ex-Goa CM Manohar Parrikar and his full BJP associates being present and >vocal in denouncing the Regional Plan, it is high time the Goans decide who is good and who is not for
