--------------------------------------------- Dear Albert, I fully defend your right to post whatever you wish, be it religious or otherwise. I do, however, feel very strongly about not advocating the "miracles" that happen in Pota, Kerala. For one thing, the Catholic Church very wisely distances itself as far as possible from any "miracles". Infact, they've been searching for sometime now for "miracles" performed by Mother Teresa and have yet to find them. The Church has stringent rules about declaring miracles, and will only do so after rigorous examination of the facts. Secondly, I'm sure you are aware that doctors in Goa, have time and again been objecting to the propagation of these falsehoods. People are lead to believe that they are cured of serious illness like diabetes, cancer, etc. People give up their medication only to realise a few months later that their illness has taken a severe turn for the worse. But it is not the physical aspect of these so called "miracles", that gets me all knotted up, it is the spiritual. Why should anyone's spirituality be dependent on being the recipient of a "miracle"? We are doing the Goan Catholics a great disservice when we make them mentally and spiritually dependent on miracles. Spirituality should be a path towards greater discovery of the self. It should not be a magic show with mirrors and tricks. Selma __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
