Whatever disability our worthy legislators may suffer from, they are very
agile when it comes to crossing the floor of the assembly.
One can wake up a staunch member of the Sangh Parivar in the morning, get
converted into a loyal Congressman in the afternoon and even end up as a
Minister by the evening! Wonders do never cease in our wonderful Goa.
Under such circumstances,one wonders why we go through the pointless
exercise of elections, wasting time, effort and money in the process. Why
not auction the seat to the highest bidder, thereby generating revenue for
the exchequer and saving money for the
tax-payer?
The French are credited with having instituted the Theatre of the Absurd,
but it is our politicians who have turned it into an art form and converted
it into a successful business enterprise.
