Buried in a front page story titled " Willy clueless on Churchill entry" in
today's HERALD is this nugget. It seems Willy D'souza (the patrao of
Saligao) actually "called on" the Navy chief on Sunday (three days ago,
perhaps when he visited Delhi) and discussed "matters pertaining to Dabolim
airport, increasing the apron, building seven aero bridges, the taxiway
etc." It goes on to state: "Dr.Willy said Adm Mehta suggested for a taxiway
parallel to the runway towards the terminal building which could facilitate
space for aircrafts three times the number" (sic). Dr Willy claims to have
conveyed "all these suggestions" to the Civil Aviation Minister. What does
this tell you about the communication process about Dabolim matters (and the
priority given in the local media to the subject)? Btw, what about the
doggone 9 acres of land, Papadoc? Cheers.
