The Government of Goa has designated The District Collector- North Goa, Mr.
Nikhil Kumar, IAS, as the NODAL OFFICER to look after complaints of Land Use
Violations [LUV] that the most uscruplous elements luv to do on Saturdays,
Sundays and Public Holidays when the Government Offices are closed. He also
has to perform his normal duties as the District Magistrate and Collector.
The designated Nodal Officer's phone numbers are:
2223612 during Office hours [09.30 to 17.45 hours, except weekends]
2429710 [Residence, after 8 P.M.] and 9822123071. It is not easy to connect
to these numbers.
If you see HILL CUTTING, FILLING OF FIELDS AND SALT-PANS, CUTTING OF TREES,
UNDERGROWTH ON FIRE and such other acts that you have reason to believe are in
violation of the law, you can also call the local Talathi, Mamlatdar, Police
Inspector or dial 100 [Police Control Room], 101[Fire Emergency] as
instructions have been issued to the authorities by the Chief Secretary to take
action.

In view of the large number of complaints being
received of land use violations the Goa Bachao Abhiyan
(Save Goa Campaign) has also set up a 24 hour fax line
to receive complaints of land use violations.
Any complaints of hill cutting, CRZ and other land use
violations can now be also faxed on 2444012.
