MARGAO, JAN 15 All roads lead to the historic Lohia Maidan at Margao from
where the great nationalist Dr Ram Manohar Lohia had given a clarion call for
Goas Liberation as Goa Bachao Abhiyan (GBA) is going ahead with its massive
meeting scheduled on Tuesday at 3 pm, with the government failing to scrap the
Regional Plan within the set deadline.
Coinciding with the Opinion Poll Day, a massive turn up of people from across
the State, especially Salcetes countryside and down South is expected at
tomorrows meeting to say no to the controversial Regional Plan.
Tuesdays meeting assumes significance as the GBA is expected to outline its
future course of action in view of the governments dilly dallying tactics to
scrap the Plan. In fact, GBA convenor Dr Oscar Rebello has made it amply clear
during the weekend that the Abhiyan would intensify the agitation. He is
expected to spell out the plan of action at tomorrows meeting.
