And why not. Goans have been doing this very thing for the last 200 years. Goans have established parishes and communities in many parts of India and in many cities around the world. Congregations don't usually get a gift of land from governments. Congregations work, they save, they pool their resources and they purchase land. You will find Goans at every level of government, the civil service, and business. You will find priests, bishops and cardinals, nurturing the communities.

AND... What makes you think God bequeathed Goa to Goans. Goa belongs to anyone who wishes to live and work for her. As does India. As does every other country and city in the world... People have immigrated into Goa and others have migrated out for the last twenty centuries. This dynamic is what makes Goa cultural rich and as exciting as any place on earth. This is why you will find Goan families living in almost every major city across the globe and fledgling Goan communities in many.

from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Orthodox_%E2%80%93_Roman_Catholic_theological_differences#Official_position_of_the_Catholic_Church

''The Roman Catholic Church considers that the differences between Eastern and Western theology are complementary rather than contradictory, as stated in the Decree Unitatis redintegratio of the Second Vatican Council, which declared:

In the study of revelation East and West have followed different methods, and have developed differently their understanding and confession of God's truth. It is hardly surprising, then, if from time to time one tradition has come nearer to a full appreciation of some aspects of a mystery of revelation than the other, or has expressed it to better advantage. In such cases, these various theological expressions are to be considered often as mutually complementary rather than conflicting. Where the authentic theological traditions of the Eastern Church are concerned, we must recognize the admirable way in which they have their roots in Holy Scripture, and how they are nurtured and given expression in the life of the liturgy. They derive their strength too from the living tradition of the apostles and from the works of the Fathers and spiritual writers of the Eastern Churches. Thus they promote the right ordering of Christian life and, indeed, pave the way to a full vision of Christian truth.''

RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH IN GOA?
In our democratic country nobody can stop any religious organizations
setting up in India. We have several churches, mosques, gurudavaras
and others temples in Goa which is their right to exist and now we are
likely to see more churches into existence from foreign countries.
Today’s (19.12.2013) news report in GT says that Russians Orthodox
Church is planning to construct in Goa, for the benefit of their
citizens and very soon some other countries may also follow. This is
going to be a burden for the local government to give them space to
build their churches where we hardly get a reasonable land for our
Goans..

Once this is permitted, I am sure in future we may find a Russian
colony or even a village in Goa. There are chances that they may
appoint their own Mayor in their area to look after their interests
and activities.

Goa Tourism Department should be more careful to deal with these kinds
of issues which may create some ill effects to tourism..

We are already having our own infrastructure problems and if this kind
of demand is allowed to foreign citizens staying in Goa, one fine day
they will demand crematorium/cemetery, market, offices and even their
own Resident Home Minister.

In the name of tourism it may create havoc to Goans in near future.
