After the Canacona tragedy struck last week, Tourism Minister Ramesh Tawadkar publicly misled the people of Goa by falsely claiming that he had bought and has the sale deeds of the two flats he owns at the now controversial Ruby Residency in Canacona
It has now been revealed that Ramesh Tawadkar infact has a Sale Deed for only one flat. That sale deed was executed by him on 15thDecember 2008 for the plush 133.99 sq. mts. flat for a meager Rs.22,10,835/-. While others had to pay over 50 lakhs for a similar flat. So was the other flat owned by Ramesh Tawadkar for which he has no sale deed a reward to him by the builder to allow the blatant illegalities in that project? The Sports Minister has a lot to explain. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar cannot be passing the buck and pointing fingers at others. For over a decade the Canacona taluka has been represented by only BJP MLAs. We all also know why the Chief Minister is dilly-dallying on finalizing the Goa Regional Plan. It is with a very vested intent in order to allow the builders to have a field day. In the Canacona tragedy a lot of innocent lives have been lost. People who have invested their life savings in this doomed residential complex need to be given justice. In prosecuting the builder and others responsible for this man made tragedy, Manohar Parrikar should display the same enthusiasm he did in the Tarun Tejpal case.
