The People of Chinchinim Village salute these pioneers for the proliferation of Portuguese Primary Education in the Village and beyond. Their efforts, dedication, commitment and sacrifices are worthy of our appreciation and recognition. Both the day and residential schools provided a convenient opportunity for learners. They prepared students for the public, Govt, examination in Permeiro and Segundo Grau .These qualifications enabled the students to enter English medium schools or First year of 7 years of Lyceum at Panjim with admission test.
Rev. Fr MANOEL FLORIANO GOMES, R/O DANDEAVADO, s/o Jose Esmeraldo Gomes&Eufregina Dias and paternal uncle of late Prof.C.A.Gomes. Born on 21-8-1886 , passed away on 3-11-1950 at Chinchinim .Celebratd First mass on 7-9-1915 He founded the School `NossaSenhora de Esperanca` and continued for 7 years from 1916-1923 at his residence .He served as the Chaplain at Cavelossim from 1927-1931 and as the Vicar of St. Thomas Church, Cansaulim,Salcette ,Goa 20-9-1938 until death. He also worked as the Professor at the Seminary at Mapusa(1913-1938)
