*SHAWN GRACIAS APPOINTED AS VICE PRESIDENT* *CHAMPIONS GROUP PLANS TO EXPAND IN GOA* Keeping in mind the presence of the ‘Champions Group’ and its existing portfolio in Goa via water sports and other activities, Mr.Shawn Gracias has been appointed as the ‘Vice President – Corporate’ to oversee the development and implementation of the ‘Marine Tourism’ concept and allied services across the board in association with the respective tourism board in Goa and beyond. The focus will be on developing and tapping the rich and varied potential of the hinterland/water ways in Goa via numerous eco-sensitive projects including premium yatch clubs, luxury product lines, party catamarans and a wide array of great tourism related services & facilities in Goa to bolster the urgent need for attracting higher spending tourists and encouraging a luxury segment of travelers globally to consider Goa as a holiday destination. Mr.Gracias concurred with the above road-map by saying that the Champions Group already has numerous alliances with existing tourism related organizations including Goa Tourism Development Corporation(GTDC) subject to all aqua related activities and water sports facilities at Mayem lake and other destinations around. The Airport Authority of India(GOA)/(AAI) have already collaborated with the Group for a lot of specific activities as well to be implemented in due course. Mr.Gracias also detailed the PRIMARY following points: a) Development and promotion of YATCH CLUBS + a MARINA base in North and South in collaboration with the various governmental agencies. b) Promotion of water sports, aqua concepts and allied services in Goa apart from the existing product line. c) Focus on waterway development as a new revenue model for tourism keeping in mind the untapped resources at hand. Mr.Gracias also added that the support of every department in Goa is crucial for the above venture to be a success. He also said that apart from the Union Ministry (Tourism) endorsing the road-map, the key will be to promote synergy between the other service providers in the state and have the plans implemented as soon as possible. Mr.Gracias has been previously associated with numerous tourism related projects previously including the launch and implementation of the CLUB GOA loyalty program for Goa Tourism Development Corporation(GTDC) and he has also been the ‘Director of Resorts’ for the Royal Group a.k.a Karma International in addition to previous international professional assignments in Dubai(UAE).
