One more formidable Konkani writer who did his best for the language and to keep Konkani journalism flourishing in Goa is gone. A big hole in the literary landscape, and a valuble loss to the Pilar Society. Had the forture to know him and also be with him for the Fr. Agnel feast. Enjoy the lunch with him surrounded by priests. Met him when his visited Toronto many years ago and was introduced to me by his cousin Antonio Mascarenhas, president of Candolim (or maybe Calangute) Association, and also office-bearer of World Assliance of Goan Association. He told he wasn't well and I was taken to meet him in his room, a section of the seminary devoted to the sick, by Fr. Feroz, his successor as editor of Vaureandcho Ixtt. May his soul rest in peace.
