Traffic Police checking shows lopside priorities. I found four of them checking two wheelers for helmets, whilst totally ignoring passing traffic flouting all traffic rules! When asked they say they have no orders.Do they only do as ordered, or maybe they are ignorant of traffic rules?
I pointedly requested the Traffic Cell to keep a cop in the center of Mandovi Bridge with a cellphone/walkie talkie, catch all those crossing the white line/overtaking/ cutting in/hazardously speeding etc. Their reaction: RTO has the speed Radar, shortage of staff, funds , VIP duties and 1001 excuses, where the common man has no priority at all. I fail to comprehend why complaint is required for authorities to do their duty, protect the common citizen, or implement the laws,rules and regulations, with some sense of urgency. Don't the Goa police have any spine or want to get the respect and cooperation of the common man?
