To, The Editor The Gomantak Times, St Ines. (Note: I have a doubt whether this will be published by the Editor of GT)
Ref: Your news report dt 23th Aug, tells us " RANES GRANTED ANTICIPATORY BAIL " It is very common practice for a person to deny each and everything when it comes their matter in the court proceedings. Sometimes their advocate himself tells them to tell lies or many times the convict himself tells lies just to get himself free. But what will happen if the Court has witnesses that the convict is telling lies in the Court? If the advocate of the convict is smart he can twist the case and goes on postponing for wanting more proofs. This way the Judge demands solid proofs which is rarely available because either the witnesses goes sterile or not been able to give complete facts for the satisfaction of the Judge. Now the case of Ranes for granting anticipatory bail based on Balchandra Naik complaint which states that Ranes taken bribe from his Dahej Minerals Co. and Rane denies that he has never seen nor he knows Balchandra. This is a complete denial by Ranes, when the whole world knows this plus 80 years old man Balchandra Naik a well known figure in Goa who moves with a saffron flag in his vehicle all the time and any TOM and JERRY knows him. He attends all Govt official functions. He has attended a funeral of Matanhy Saldanha and I have seen him among the VVIP at the funeral. We all went together for the funeral and that I saw him talking with Arun Jetley when he gave a speech over there. It is surprise why Sr. Rane behaves in this fashion when he is an Opposition Leader, ex-speaker, ex-CM and VVIP which does not suit him to act in this form of denial. Surely the Court will give a proper judgment and finds who is a LIAR. Stephen Dias D.Paula
