Dariaveler or dariadeger, (seaside) as mentioned in Gurunath Kelekar's
English Konkani dictionary would also do. However in practice most people
simply say 'beach'! As in "Arre beachir ia re?" Borrowing words from other
languages is quite a legitimate way to enrich a language.

I think that the Brahminical urge to make the language 'pure' will only
make the language poor.
