As 19th December which is Goa’s Liberation day falls on a Friday it is still uncertain whether it will be Laxmikant Parsekar or the de-facto weekend Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar that will grab the salute at the State function to be held on Campal grounds.
The Liberation day annual tea party hosted at Raj Bhavan on 19th evening was this year high-handedly preponed to the 18th with Raj Bhavan informing the invitees that it was due to unavoidable circumstances. It was all done just because Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to visit Goa on Dec 19th to inaugurate the “India ideas Conclave 2014”. Possibly having run out of ideas NaMo has fortunately cancelled that trip to Goa and the Raj Bhavan tea party will now be held on 19th December as done every year. The preponing of that customary tea party was uncalled for. Does Governor Mridula Sinha need to be reminded that she is heading the Raj Bhavan and not a BJP Bhavan?
