The Centre for Incubation and Business Acceleration (“CIBA”) and Goa Sudharop 
recently organized a seminar for Young Goan Entrepreneurs at the Agnel 
Technical Education Complex, Verna - Goa. 

CIBA is a Goa based technology business incubator supporting startups in the 
areas of Information Technology, Food Processing, Clean Technologies and Mixed 
Technologies. Goa Sudharop is a USA based non-profit working for the 
development of Goa and Goans since 2000. The seminar explored the maturity of 
the Goan startup ecosystem for access to international mentoring, network and 
potential investment for various startups. 

Mr. Ibonio D’souza, Executive Director (Goa) of Goa Sudharop welcomed the 
gathering of more than seventy five entrepreneurs. Mr. D.S. Prashant, General 
Manager, CIBA explained the role of CIBA in the local startup ecosystem 
development and highlighted the huge success stories emerging from Goa. He also 
explained the active role and participation of the Government towards ecosystem 
development. 

Mrs. Acacia Almeida, Board member of Goa Sudharop projected the vision of Goa 
Sudharop for the coming years and enlightened the audience about the interest 
of the Goan diaspora to contribute towards Economic Development of Goa. Mr. 
George Pinto, a co-founder of Goa Sudharop explained the areas of partnership 
with CIBA which could help take the startup ecosystem to the next level. Ms. 
Chloe Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks. 

The programme was co-ordinated by Mr. Safson Rodrigues, Manager at CIBA. CIBA 
is committed towards building profitable and sustainable business thereby 
strengthening the economy and enhancing the living standards of thousands of 
families and the tie up with Goa Sudharop is aimed to enhance the scope of 
development.
